Leitrim is in south Ottawa, about 16.2 km in a straight line from Parliament Hill. This guide uses the Ottawa Neighbourhood Study area 'Riverside South - Leitrim'. That area counted 19,125 people and 6,660 private dwellings in the 2021 census. About 59.3% of dwellings are single-detached houses and about 29.6% are row houses. Many parks have outdoor ice rinks, and Rideauview Community Centre is on Shoreline Drive. Limebank O-Train station is near the area centre.
